New Members
Do you play a string instrument? Are you interested in joining the Iowa City Community String Orchestra? We welcome string players of all levels who are interested in working on challenging music. Rehearsals for our fall concert typically start in September and finish with a concert in November. Our spring semester typically starts in January, and finishes with a concert in April or May.
There are no auditions required to join. Check our website and facebook for news about rehearsals starting, or email iccso.president@gmail.com for more information and to be added to the email list.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals are Tuesday nights from 7:30-9:30 at the Preucil School North Campus in Iowa City (2916 Northgate Dr, Iowa City, IA 52245).
Membership Dues
To help cover costs of rehearsal space, performance space, printing/copying, insurance, and staffing, we ask that all members pay dues each semester. If this creates a financial barrier to participating, please reach out to our board members- we don’t want this to keep anyone interested from joining the orchestra.
Dues are $50 for each semester and can be given to our treasurer, Sarah Fersdahl, at the first rehearsal or paid online via PayPal.
